Short Description

A number of international students from outside the European Economic Area are given the chance to study a Master’s degree at Utrecht University through the Utrecht Excellence Scholarship (UES).

Scholarship Award Benefit

All of the following will be provided by the university:

The Utrecht Excellence Scholarship may be given in the form of tuition fees OR tuition fees plus the necessary income tied to a one-year study-related residence permit as determined by the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
The scholarship is given during the program’s notional term.

Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Excellence Scholarships at Utrecht University, Netherlands 2023-24

Be in the top 10% of your graduating class*
Be unable to obtain financial aid through the Dutch system of study grants and loans since they do not possess an EU/EEA passport.
Have applied to an appropriate international master’s program with a start date of 1 September 2023.
Have completed your secondary education and/or Bachelor’s degree outside the Netherlands.

Application Method

The following method remains the only viable way to apply rightfully.

Non-EU/EEA students will have the option to apply for one Utrecht Excellence Scholarship beginning on November 1, 2022, after submitting an application (or applications) for a UES qualifying Master’s program by the specified date.
Before January 31, 2023, 23:59 CET, prospective students must apply through the application portal in order to be eligible for the scholarship.
