Short Description
The University of Maine is looking for high-achieving candidates to apply for the International Marisue and John Pickering Scholarships in the United States. The program is open for the academic year 2022-2023.
This scholarship will provide monetary support to participants who passed high school outside of the United States and are degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate participants, with priority provided to learners who finished high school in Bulgaria or other Balkan Peninsula countries such as Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Albania.
Scholarship Award Benefit
All of the following will be provided by the university:
- Each chosen recipient will receive foreign tuition fees to pay their education costs at the University of Maine in the United States during the academic year 2022-2023.

Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the International Marisue and John Pickering Scholarships for Undergraduate and Graduate at the University of Maine, USA 2022-23:
- Applicants must be full-time undergraduate or graduate degree-seeking students paying overseas tuition.
- Finished high school in Bulgaria, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Albania.
Application Method

- Applicants must participate in an undergraduate or graduate program at the University of Maine. After that, fill out one of our Common Applications, the UMaine Mobile App, or the ApplyMaine App. Scholarships will be considered for all qualifying students.
- Needed Papers: Candidates must provide the following documents:
- Transcripts of any past secondary/high school or university work must be sent, as well as a copy of the passport ID page.
- Submit a Financial Declaration together with accompanying documentation.

- Entrance Qualifications: Candidates must fulfill the university’s admission standards for the undergraduate or graduate program to which they desire to apply.
