Short Description
Exceptional individuals who aspire to enroll in the University of Notre Dame’s Peace studies program are presently invited to submit applications for the Kroc Institute Ph.D. Scholarship in Peace Studies for International Students.
With the aim of eliminating violence and reducing human suffering, the Kroc Institute’s Ph.D. program equips students to become excellent researchers and educators who contribute to the expanding body of knowledge and practice on peacebuilding.
Scholarship Award Benefit
All of the following will be provided by the university:
- A complete scholarship for college Generous allowance (Cost-of-living in South Bend)
- Additional support for research projects and conference travel, as well as health insurance.

Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Kroc Institute Scholarships at the University of Notre Dame, USA 2023-24
- Candidates must be either domestic or foreign students.
- Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher from an approved university.
- The joint area to which they are applying requires formal training and/or a degree from the applicants.
- Except for Peace Studies and Theology, which need a master’s in theology, previous graduate study is not necessary.
- The Master of Global Affairs in International Peace Studies is an option for prospective students interested in a master’s degree in peace studies.
Application Method
The following method remains the only viable way to apply rightfully.
- The Graduate School Application for Admission must be submitted electronically by all applicants. No paper documents will be considered for consideration; all necessary materials must be submitted to the application.
- Please fill out this form to ask for a fee waiver. By December 15 of the year before the fall semester of admission, applications must be finished and sent.
- Required Resources:
- The following items must be submitted with the graduate school application for admission from the applicant:
- a curriculum vitae (CV), a statement of purpose, a writing sample, and the names and contact details of three referees;
- unofficial transcripts from previous schools or degrees that are still being earned;
- Score on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is necessary solely for Sociology and Theology;
- exclusively for overseas applicants who have a TOEFL or IELTS score (students from Anglophone countries or who hold a University degree from an English-speaking institution are exempt from this requirement).
